INTERLOCUTION
HOME/ABOUT
My core interest as an artist lies in understanding the intricate details of my surroundings and how they shape my evolving personal experiences.
My practice explores themes of identity, memory, and the interconnectedness of nature and the human body. I often use entomological, anthropological, and botanical references to depict human conditions that are habitually considered taboo. By incorporating elements from the natural world, I aim to initiate dialogue between the human experience and organic processes-such as growth, decay, and transformation-sometimes blending them into hybrid forms. These references serve as metaphors while also adding levity and humour to my work.
A crucial part of my process is the extensive use of colour, allowing me to experiment with achieving iridescent hues, nature’s most fascinating optical trick. I’m fascinated by how these Colours respond to light, temperature, and human perception.
I primarily work with aquatint and woodcut techniques in printmaking. These mediums allow me to explore the sensual and transcending quality of fleeting life with the goal of creating work that is both visually seductive and challenging.
